Ian,
USS Saratoga CV-3, 888 feet long, 106 feet wide, intact, upright, flight
deck at 30m, top of bridge at 15m, seabed about 55m; hanger space
(inside) over 300 feet long, 60 feet wide, 40 feet hight, with aircraft
still in it; 16 boiler rooms, 2 main generator rooms (60 feet by 25 by
25).. and more...
Nagato, flagship of attack on pearl harbour, laying almost inverted in
50m, bridge detatched and laying on seabed, guns still in barbettes, way
bigger than the Markgraf.
Need any more reasons?
(and there's more background exposure from a week in New York than a
week in Bikini - the ony restriction is not to eat locally grown
produce, and not to wallow in the silt in the wrecks.)
